FeaturedArticle Bike for Health Event a Success!

On August 21st, Cleveland Ripley Neighborhood Center, in partnership with Healthy Living Matters, Bike Houston, Pearland BMX, and the City of Pasadena Police Department, hosted a Bike for Health event.  Over 200 attendees were presented with information about bike safety, bike laws and ways to make the City of Pasadena more bike friendly. Children in attendance received bike helmets, safety lights and were entered to win one of five bicycles.

This event is just one example of the bike-related efforts being made in the city of Pasadena. Through the REACH grant received by HLM, many Pasadena ISD school campuses and city parks have received bike racks and will also be receiving a "Bike Friendly Facility" sign that they can use to encourage and support biking as a way of active transportation. Along with the signs, all facilities will be asked to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which details what it takes to be "bike friendly".
