Hopkins Joins Cornerstone VNA Board

Hiller Promoted at HRP
Human Resource Partners has announced the promotion of Kristy Hiller to HR business partner.  Hiller has nearly 20 years of experience working in human resources for nonprofits and the private sector; in industries including banking, hospital, information technology; and healthcare information support.

She has served in diverse HR positions, and was responsible for the creation and oversight of a human resources department as senior director. This experience enables her to provide valuable insight for clients into the areas of recruitment, onboarding, employee life cycle, and employee relations, according to Delise West, president.

HAVEN Welcomes New Members
HAVEN, the largest violence prevention and support services agency in New Hampshire, was pleased to welcome new members to their organization. Four new board members were welcomed: David Terlemezian, Dover Police Department; Vanessa McElroy, Cole Haan; Tammy Stain, Seaglass Technology Partners; and Wendy Rayno, New Hampshire Commercial Banking. HAVEN also introduced four new staff members: Annie Dowling, Kara Gingras, Kevin Mahaney, and Cheryl Van Allen. 

HAVEN provides support services to a catchment of over 400,000 children; adults and families in Southeastern New Hampshire.

C&J Commences Service from Dover to NYC
C&J is excited to announce the expansion of their popular New York City Service with the addition of service to Dover, NH. This new location will operate schedules daily between New York City, seven days a week. The pickup and drop off location is at the C&J terminal on 23 Indian Brook Drive.

C&J's New York service currently operates from Portsmouth, NHTewksbury, MA, and Ogunquit, ME (seasonally) to the New York City Port Authority Bus Terminal in the heart of midtown Manhattan.  C&J transports passengers aboard a  30-passenger luxury motor coach  featuring two and one leather seating, power outlets at each seat, Wi-Fi, in-service seatback audio, feature full-length movies, and a self-service galley, located in the rear of the coach where passengers can enjoy complimentary refreshments. Other amenities include complimentary newspapers, headsets, pillows and blankets.

8th Annual Festival of Trees
The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce's Festival of Trees, happening on Friday, December 1st, will feature over 30 trees, elaborately decorated by local businesses and organizations, to be auctioned and raffled off to benefit the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce City Lights Committee. The event also includes live choir performances, children's activities, holiday carols, refreshments and more! PCA Welcomes Dr. Abood
The Portsmouth Christian Academy community is happy to welcome Dr. Carrie Abood as their new Lower School Principal.  A native of Tennessee, Dr. Abood earned both her Doctorate in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change and her Master's in Education Administration and Supervision from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. 

For the past six years, Dr. Abood has worked at Lipscomb University as an Assistant Professor in their College of Education.  Prior to this position, she taught high school level English at Lipscomb Academy and was also an English Language Learner Teacher in Metro Nashville Public Schools.  Carrie and her husband, Adam, have two children, Eden and Abraham.

NECU Supports Hunger Action Month
Northeast Credit Union (NECU) and their community members joined together in support of Hunger Action Month, an awareness initiative started by Feeding America®. For the month of September, NECU collected donations in all of their 20 branches throughout New Hampshire and Maine. The New Hampshire Food Bank and the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine worked with NECU to collect the items and to distribute to local food pantries. NECU branches collected a total of 662 pounds of food, which allows the Food Bank to provide 552 meals for our friends and neighbors facing hunger here in New Hampshire.

Feeding America is one of the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organizations, working with hundreds of food banks across the country in the fight against food insecurity.  They also coordinate programs such as the Kids Café®, BackPack Program, Summer Food Service Program, School Pantry Program, and SNAP® Application Assistance Program.

Howe, Riley & Howe, a full service accounting firm with offices in Manchester and Portsmouth, has recently relocated its Portsmouth office.  Howe, Riley & Howe is now located at 210 Commerce Way, Suite 230 in Portsmouth, NH. The move comes as the firm continues to expand its client base and presence on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine. 

Court Klein is part of the team representing Howe, Riley & Howe in its Portsmouth office.
