Beverly Fishman and Thrush Holmes

Detroit-based contemporary art gallery, Library Street Collective is pleased to announce two consecutive solo exhibitions with artists Beverly Fishman and Thrush Holmes. Markedly different, the works of these two artists provide a dynamic distinction that energize one another, sharing color, intensity and an antithetical take on abstraction

Hatch Gallery

Installation, video, and sculptural work of Michael McGillis. In his words: My drivers have always been landscape, the memories we associate with places, and the careening state of the natural world...it seems these are where the needle of my thought process always returns to center. Whereas the default state of my working process is to set up collisions between unrelated objects and materials, and synthesize worlds that exist briefly, like the unstable Elements created in a supercollider.

The Detroit Rotterdam Exchange Show is a collaboration and an exchange between Cave Gallery in Detroit, and Rotterdam's Galerie Gallery. Time Moves in One Direction, Memory Another
This show is based around a small group of artists whose defining characteristic is that they are Wayne State alumni featured in "Essay'd," a recently published volume of essays about Detroit artists. Simultaneously, though, it is an exhibition that aspires to connect the artists conceptually, through the diverse ways in which their work relates to the field of memory. The closing event will feature a short artist talk by Ed Fraga at 6:30pm, and the release of an essay on Ed Fraga.

Closing Reception, Thursday December 8, 6-8pm. [Midtown, Detroit]
