Severe fines and penalties will be assessed if a business doesn’t display a current poster.

1.Hosted a Chambers of Commerce Alliance of Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties board meeting to discuss the results of the 2017 California Legislative Session.

2.Attended the U.S. Chamber Government Affairs Conference in Chicago. Considering the current federal political environment, there was certainly no shortage of topics to cover!

3.Celebrated the grand opening of the indoor playground at Centerpoint Mall in Oxnard.

4.Met with Mike Villegas, Air Pollution Control Officer/Executive Office of the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District to discuss new legislation that would create a voluntary vessel speed reduction program for ocean going vessels in the Santa Barbara Channel. 

5.Provided 87,144 referrals to our members via the Chamber’s website so far in October.

CALIFORNIA RECEIVES MONEY TO BOOST SMALL BUSINESS EXPORTS
California has received $500,000 from the U.S. Small Business Administration to increase export activities among small businesses. The funding, part of the State Trade Export Promotion program, will boost trade in foreign markets, – including China, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Mexico, – and encourage exports of information technologies, food and agricultural products, consumer goods and medical equipment.
