Last month our grandson, Kyler, and our ranch hand, Landon, helped Allan give shots, brand the calves, and castrate the males. They all seem to enjoy this event a lot, but the work is hard on poor Allan's body.
North Carolina Trip
I mentioned last month that Allan and I were headed to North Carolina, to my sister's beach house on Oak Island. Interesting enough, it didn't used to be an island, but became one when they dredged the intercoastal canal. We had such a nice time, and thought you might enjoy seeing some of our pictures.
Tim, Jan, Mike, Connie, me, Allan, Cathy, Randy
We rented a pontoon and took a trip down the intercoastal. Allan piloted down and Randy back.
Lots of fun on the beach. Allan & I dragged one of the carts back to the house. My sister has rigged them up to carry everything you could possibly need.
We played pickle ball for the first time ever and really enjoyed it!
We took walks along the beach every day - a most relaxing way to unwind from stress.
The sunsets and sunrises were incredible - although I personally did not see many sunrises!
Allan and I cooked up a feast - trigger fish with plum sauce (
PLUM SAUCE RECIPE),
boiled shrimp, and flounder stuffed with shrimp and some crab that we caught. We had such a wonderful time!

In Closing . . .
Pinch me, it can't be November. Where has the year gone? Allan and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for supporting what we do, and for making this business possible. Please keep in touch - we love hearing from you.
God bless you as you celebrate this time of thanksgiving with your family. May you have much to be grateful for, and little to complain about.
