Whether you are traveling this week or staying home to celebrate Thanksgiving, we hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday. It's hard to believe that it is almost December. We have several exciting events coming up, including the always popular Holiday Shop and our first Project GIFT Showcase of the year.
Spirit Day - November 22
Have your kids show their school spirit on Tuesday by wearing their Abingdon spirit gear or the color red. Although it's too late to order spirit gear for tomorrow, you can order gear anytime of the year by visiting the Spirit Gear Shop at

Project GIFT Showcase "Amazing Abingdon" - December 1
Plan now to attend Abingdon's first Project GIFT Showcase of the year on December 1.
Pizza and drinks will be sold starting at 6:30 pm by the 5th Grade Class to raise funds for their promotion fund.
The program will begin at 7:00 pm.
Abingdon Holiday Shop - December 6
Join us on
Tuesday, December 6 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm for an evening of holiday shopping, music and crafts. Your child can
enjoy independent holiday shopping in the library and select from more than 100 reasonably priced gifts ranging from 25 cents to $12. Abingdon staff and volunteers will be available to help younger students.
While your children wait for their turn to shop, families can enjoy holiday music and crafts, as well as a holiday themed photo booth!
Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase. We are looking for volunteers to help out with this event. To volunteer, visit our Sign-Up Genius or email Becca Kim at [email protected]. Additionally, is one of you children an Abingdon grad? We'd love to have their help in the shopping area to assist the younger shoppers. If they would like to volunteer to help that evening, please contact Becca Kim at [email protected].
Twitter Class - December 13

join Abingdon's PR Liaison (and School Testing Coordinator), Erin Sonn, for a Twitter Class on December 13 at 2:00 pm at Abingdon!

Cookie/Baked Good Donations - December 15
Planning on baking cookies or other yummy baked goods this holiday season? Why not make an extra dozen or two and donate them to the PTA on
December 15 to help us prepare trays of holiday treats for the staff. Donations should be dropped off to the front office by 10 am on December 15.
