DCD Holds 95th Annual Meeting
More than 200 parents, faculty, staff, and honorary members of the Corporation gathered in the Rand Gym on Thursday night for a evening of connecting, business, and transitions, as DCD held its 95th Annual Meeting. Serenaded by the jazz keyboard melodies of Adam Rochelle '09, the night started with a cocktail reception, followed by a catered dinner and a program including presentations by incoming Board Presidents John Connors and Susanne Joyce, Head of School Allison Webster, Annual Fund Co-Chairs Ashley and Linda Shih, and other school leaders.  The night was punctuated by a farewell tribute to outgoing Board President Sheila Hiatt, including a special song performed for the occasion by DCD parent David Coleman ( Aim é e '18 ). Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for this special night!
A Spooktacular Parent Volunteer Opportunity!

Please check out the Sign-up Genius ( http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0f4fa8a82ea0f58-2017) and select one of the freakishly fun crafts or games to help with. We hope you can "carve" out some time to join us!  Contact Amy Starmer ( [email protected]) with any questions.

Elvis Presley's style of singing and performing is now legendary, but early in his life, few people understood him. Music floated all around East Tupelo, Mississippi, where he was born in 1935. As Elvis attended First Assembly of God Church with his mother, he joined in singing the hymns. Life was hard for his mother, especially when Elvis's father went to jail. The family moved around to try to make a better life. The constants in the boy's life were his mother and music. When they moved to Memphis in 1948, Elvis found some friends who enjoyed music almost as much as he did. In high school, other students made fun of him until he entered their talent show and shared his music. ...
