Park District receives $400,000 OSLAD Grant!
In 2015, the Park District was approved for a matching grant, $400,000, from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources specifically for the Lake Bluff Pool (Wading Pool, Main Pool, Locker Rooms and ADA Compliance). The Open Space Land Acquisition Development Grant (OSLAD) is a Grant program established by the Illinois General Assembly in 1986 as a result of legislative advocacy efforts to provide financial assistance to local government agencies for the acquisition and development of land for public parks and open space. OSLAD is funded by non-General Revenue Fund (non-GRF) dollars dedicated through a portion of the real estate transfer tax. Of every dollar collected through the real estate transfer tax, 50 cents goes for OSLAD and the Natural Areas Acquisition Fund (NAAF) and 50 cents goes into a fund for affordable housing.

Recently, Governor Rauner and Illinois Department of Natural Resources released the funds to those agencies who were approved in 2015. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners and staff of the Lake Bluff Park District, I would like thank Governor Rauner and Illinois Department of Natural Resources for releasing the funds and our local legislators for their support. State Senator Julie Morrison and State Representative Scott Drury were instrumental with providing support for our Park District during the application and funding process. The Park District is truly thankful for this grant to improve a valued facility in our community.

Sincerely,

Ron Salski
