Musical Notes for this Sunday, November 27
As we begin the Advent season, a time of exciting introspection, the music for the Sunday morning liturgy changes to express both our anticipation and contemplation.

This week, the processional hymn is the exuberant Lo! he comes with clouds descending which speaks of triumph and rapture and wherein we sing "Alleluia!"  Here is a link to the hymn on youtube;  it even has the words on the screen!

We then join in the Kyrie eleison (Lord, have mercy) rather than a Gloria.

We will chant the psalm not to the usual simplified Anglican formula, rather, we sing in unison using the more solemn plainsong Tone viii.

The anthem is from Handel's Messiah, followed by the presentation hymn, again sung to a unison plainsong melody.
  George Frideric Handel

While some of the music may be unfamiliar, I hope you will join in the singing and that this Advent you will find your faith renewed.
Tim McKee, Music Director

Pledge Ingathering and Blessing of Pledges

For many of us, Thanksgiving seems to be the time we "gather in" our year within our hearts as we gather with family and friends. We pause to share our gratitude for God's blessings, large and small.

This year, those of us on the team of The Market at 3 West Ridge extend our very special gratitude to our St. Peter's Family for your loving and generous support of our efforts on behalf of Savannah's children. Along with setting a record for numbers of shoppers and dollars for our two charities, something wonderful happened at the 2016 Market as representatives of the charities came together in our halls with all of you. Read about the resulting collaborative magic, here.

Parents: Would you like your child to participate in the St. Peter's Christmas Pageant?
If so, please let Tim know - many thanks!

The annual St. Peter's Christmas Pageant will take place on Sunday afternoon, December 18 at 4 pm and we need to know who the cast is! All children ages baby through 5th grade are encouraged to take part. Please contact Tim McKee at 912.598.7242, ext. 204 or tmckee@stpeterssavannah.org to let him know if your child would like to take part on December 18.

Parents or other adults are needed to help the children with their costumes and their focus! Read more about how you can help.
