Recently, our mesquite end grain was exclusively chosen in the design for two high profile commercial projects; Emeril Lagasse's
Meril Restaurant in New Orleans and
WebMD's Headquarters in New York City. Pictured below, you will find a showcase of our striking mesquite flooring surfaces that gave our clients an aesthetically pleasing, yet enduring design. We recommend
mesquite end grain for projects that have limited environmental controls and for those with heavy traffic.
Mesquite, one of our most popular wood species, is 82% harder than red oak and dimensionally very stable.
Mesquite trees yield a finished wood with warm red, brown, tan, or yellow tones with a swirling grain. Although not commercially harvested, mesquite is a rapidly renewable resource.
Located in the warehouse district of New Orleans, Emeril Lagasse has opened his first new restaurant in New Orleans since 1988. Meril, which is named after his daughter, is a new restaurant concept highlighting global influences from his world travels. This casual setting has an open style kitchen with a large bar area featuring craft cocktails and specialty wines.

WebMD's Headquarters in NYC was selected by Interior Design Magazine as one of the four new outstanding offices in their October 2016 edition. Our mesquite was used both on the main stair and platform areas, which is the central lobby of the office suite. The platforms were designed to bring employees together to brainstorm ideas and to socialize in an open and comfortable environment.
Mesquite, being both extremely sturdy and versatile, was selected by TPG Architects for both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
