Weekly Update
Washington County prepares for more winter weather
Winter weather has definitely arrived in Washington County. Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) Operations and Maintenance crews are up to the challenge.
"Our crews were out sanding and keeping roads clear throughout last week's winter weather event," said Dave Schamp, manager, LUT Operations and Maintenance Division. "While some of our roads - particularly those that are steep - still resulted in challenging driving conditions, we were able to keep roads open. We spent the last two days putting down anti-icing agents in preparation for any winter weather conditions that may come our way."
Snow plows and sanding/anti-icing vehicles often travel slowly. Motorists traveling in the vicinity of these vehicles should slow down and make sure their headlights are on. Motorists attempting to pass plows should do so on the left to avoid debris deposited by blades.
