Dear Friends,
My neighbor already has two Chrtstmas trees up in his house. Stores have been advertising Black Friday shopping deals since Halloween. It seems the world is in a rush to get to Christmas. Now I am no Scrooge or Grinch and I love Christmas as much as the next guy, but I think we are over looking a very important holiday in our desire to welcome St. Nick.
Please take some time this week to express your gratititude for all of the wonderful gifts God has given you. There is plenty of time for the comemrcial fun of Christmas. This week is purely about family, friends, and the simple pleasures of life.
Personally, I am thankful for the opportunity to share my day with your children and help to shape them in the image of Christ. I am thankful for you, for choosing to send your children to Assumption and for supporting our mission. I am thankful for the love and support of my family. I am thankful for the support of our Church and community. I am thankful for our skilled and caring staff and teachers that are responsible for sharing the teachings of our Lord with your children.
I will keep all of you in my prayers this Thanksgiving and hope that you do the same for me. Advent begins this coming Sunday! No need to rush things, our greatest gift will not be purchased on Friday, but rather given to us by God in the form of his son Jesus.
Many Blessings,
Steven J. Santoli
Principal

Homes for the Brave Souper Bowl Going On Now
Help Us Collect Over 1000 Cans of Soup for Homeless Veterans
Current Can Count: 450
The PreK 3 class is collecting cans of soup for the homeless veterans at Homes for the Brave. We have been supporting this mission for over 15 years and last year we set a record by collecting and donating over 1000 cans of soup.
Students are asked to bring cans of soup to school every Monday from now until the Super Bowl. In exchange, participating students can wear jeans with their uniform or their favorite team jersey on the Monday they donate the soup.
