ODOT Earmarks $22 Million for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance
The state of Oregon's Department of Transportation (ODOT) has agreed to provide funding to move in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
ODOT will immediately fund $5 million to install 10,000 curb ramps and an additional 1,500 pedestrian crossing signs. An additional $18 million has been set aside to complete similar retrofits in the coming years.
In addition, there will be a new public process that will provide people with disabilities opportunity to request accessibility street features and report problems in the future.
