As the holidays are fast approaching, it seems so easy to forget what we are thankful for. So often we stress about getting the right turkey, the perfect side dishes, baking the right amount of dessert and treats, and making sure we have enough food and drinks for everyone. The list is never ending.
The true fact is, we are all busy, we all face our fair share of diversities, and everyday brings new joy and possibilities. At least that is how I like to look at life. We have 24 hours everyday at our disposal. It is how we spend those 24 hours that sets us apart!
So although I am far from perfect, I decided when Nicholas was born to always look up and move forward. No matter what life brought me, I was determined to look at it as an opportunity instead of an obstacle or disappointment. Sometimes I would call it a small hiccup. Living by that is sometimes hard. Life can be hard and sometimes not very forgiving. But when things get really tough, and they do, I go for a run.
So no matter how tough life gets, we at SMILE Mass, would like to remind you to look up and move forward. There is so much to be thankful for! At SMILE Mass, we are very thankful for all of our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and everyone whom has had a small part in making SMILE Mass possible. Together we are able to service the many clients throughout New England, and far beyond, whom have been able to take advantage of the many services and programs we provide. It is surreal to me, that thousands of families, each year, have been able to take a beach vacation or a break from the daily grind, because of one simple product and program created by SMILE Mass; our Beach Wheelchair Program. This, in addition to the playground that never seams to empty or the never ending list of towns wanting to make their beaches and recreational spaces more accessible, is what we have built over the last 6 years. Our fully handicapped accessible house project is in progress, so stay tuned!
Both Susan and I are so lucky to be allowed to continue to grow SMILE Mass. We know we would not be able to do what we do without your continued support. We are forever thankful.
From our family to yours, we wish you a safe and joyful Thanksgiving.
Best,
Lotte
