TRACK(Tongue River After Care for Kids)
A fun, safe, structured way for your kids to be cared for after school!
Be sure to call 655-9419 or 655-9191 to sign your child up
Here at our After School Program we center around the SIX Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness Caring, and Citizenship

TRACK UPDATE:
TRACK after-school students worked on Citizenship in November. Students made items to sell at the TRVCC Fall Carnival to fund a community service project. After brainstorming different community service ideas, students were given two choices to vote on. Votes were split equally so TRACK will be creating a "bedtime package" (pill ow, slippers, storybook, and toothb
rush) for children their age, as well as donating a game or toy to "Toys for Tots".

TRACK students also adopted the "Giraffe Heroes Project" in November. "Giraffe Heroes" is a curriculum that
celebrates Heroes of every age an d background that have made a difference in the world. TRACK students first created a Hero Board after discussing who was their Hero. They found there are Friend Heroes, Story Heroes, Service Heroes, Family Heroes. The group consensus was that A HERO HELPS OTHERS. After sharing Hero Cards from the curriculum students were then asked to become a "Giraffe Hero" and "Stick Their Neck Out--to Stand Tall for a Better World".
November Character words were: Thankfulness, Gratitude, and HERO.

Good Character remains steady at TRACK after-school, Character Counts week was October 16-22--However, we celebrate character e ach week with different character words--this month's discussion: KINDNESS, HELPFULNESS, MANNERS, CITIZENSHIP, and CARING.
TRACK staff and students are especially thankful to have special volunteers who spend time working with the students playing math games and reading with them. Jackie Allen, Carole Petty, Patty Ellis, as well as TRHS students spend time each week volunteering at after-school. We deeply appreciate your time and support!
We always celebrate Character Counts and focus on the six pillars of Character. The six character pillars are - Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship.  We also value the Cowboy Ethics Program and teach the students the importance of  the simple, basic values that lie at the heart of the cowboy way. We look forward to a great year!

Mental Health Minute
Edie J. Anderson, LMFT Mountains Edge Counseling Winter Blues or Something More?

Winter in Wyoming can be a wonderful, sometimes even "magical" time of the year. With the snow capped Big Horn Mountains right in our backyard, there are many activities to participate in during the winter months. It is a joyous time to come together for the holidays. It means days filled with building snowmen, sledding, and drinking hot cocca by the fire. But, for some, the changing of seasons can be a time of great sadness, darkness, and depression, which leaves some feeling anything BUT "magical". According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th edition (DSM-V), there is a disorder called Seasonal Affective Disorder, otherwise known as SAD. SAD is a type of depression displaying a recurring seasonal pattern. People who suffer from SAD often have feelings of depression, low energy, social withdrawal, weight gain, and hypersomnia. These symptoms specifically occur during winter months.    Read More Here
