Engineer It! Is a half day event that will be hosted in Chippewa County on October 7th from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Get a taste of what it takes to build a Rube Goldberg device. Look for more details to come.

Celebrate 4-H October 1 - 7th. Clubs are invited to promote 4-H during this week.  We encourage you to wear 4-H apparel.

The Ambassadors have decided to meet from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the hour before each Leader's Council meeting. The next Ambassador meeting will be Monday, September 25th in the Assembly Room at the courthouse.

4-H Endowment Applications are due in the Chippewa County Extension Office by midnight October 1, for fall and winter programming and by April 1 for spring and summer programming.

Looking for youth members to serve on State Fair show committees

Youth in grades 9+ are encouraged to apply to be a youth representative on specie statewide Livestock Show Committees. Applications are available online and due by September 15.

More 4-H news this month

Associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages members to help new youth and families get connected. In 4-H, youth build the skills they need to lead. Who can you share 4-H with this month?
 
Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2018 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. This National 4-H recognition award honors volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H, while promoting service through volunteerism as both an opportunity and a privilege. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15.
 
Applications are being accepted now through Sept. 15, 2017 for 2018 National 4-H Conference roundtable facilitators. The 2018 National 4-H Conference which will be held in Washington, D.C. April 7-12, 2018. All college students with a desire to participate in this leadership experience are encouraged to apply!
 
Beginning this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years! Watch for a message from your regional office in early September about next steps. Re-enrollment for the next term will take place Sept. 16 - Oct. 31.
 
The Minnesota 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife program development committee invites adults and youth (9th grade and older) to attend a leader certification training Oct. 7 - 8 in Alexandria. Be prepared for the new 4-H year with trained volunteers - register by Sept. 22!
 
Minnesota 4-H youth are encouraged to apply by Nov. 10 for the National 4-H Conference to be held in Washington D.C. April 7 - 12, 2018. You must be 15 years old by Jan. 1 and not older than 19 by June 1 (in the year of conference attendance).
 
Minnesota 4-H youth interested in joining thousands of young people from across the United States at next summer's CWF in Washington D.C. should plan ahead. Pre-application materials will be online Jan. 23, 2018 - mark your calendars so you don't forget!
