December Prayer
by Sister Helen Jean Novy, H.M., VP of Mission
Dear Jesus,
Light of the world,
set our hearts aglow
with the joys
of the holiday season.
You brighten our world
because You were incarnate
in all human experiences.
You walked the earth
rejoicing in human joys,
suffering human sorrows.
Enlighten our paths
as we journey together
toward the Light Wise Seekers saw.
Amen.

 Message from the President:
With Advent upon us, we are preoccupied with preparations for the joyful birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Christmas season. We bake cookies, we wrap presents, we attend weekly mass. We become so busy with our preparations that we can sometimes forget to take the time to reflect as well.

Annual Fund
 Hopefully, you've received a lightbulb from us in your mailbox at home. When you make a gift to Magnificat High School this Christmas season, fill out that lightbulb in honor or memory of someone dear to you, send it back to us, and we will hang it in the halls of Magnificat. Hundreds of lightbulbs have been given by our students, alumnae, parents and friends surround the courtyard and hallways of our school.
Your gift to Magnificat is a powerful resource for our school. Your generosity each year helps make a Magnificat education a reality for so many girls who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend.

Facing History and Ourselves
 Students spent November 8-11 in Advisory engaging in conversations about empathy and preparing to play "Face the Future: a game about the future of empathy" a massive online game and conversation. Many students began game play on the evening of Sunday, November 13 and some tuned in to a live streamed presentation given by game creator, Jane McGonigle. Participation in the game allowed for Magnificat students to connect with people from all over the world who were also engaged in the game which only lasted for 30 hours.

program will be showing off their new Spring Floor this season. This is an exciting new piece of equipment for the program that will help take our home gymnastics meets as well as our team's practices to a new level.
This is the inaugural year for the Magnificat
Bowling
program. The Streaks have a Varsity and JV team this season, and they are excited to begin play.
