I am proud to share with you the progress HealtheConnections has made through September this year. Our data is in and the results are incredible! The numbers speak for themselves: This works. The HIE is growing and we have you, our partners, to thank for it.

We’ve documented some huge successes year-to-date, and this means great things for all of us. With more usage and participants involved, everyone can get more out of the HIE resources.

If you have friends or colleagues who have yet to connect with us, point them our way. We’re here to help everyone make the most out of our free and secure resources. Faster patient visits, fewer calls for records, easier appointments – our goal is healthy patients and happy staff throughout central New York.

The Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) offers funding to help offset the cost of connecting electronic health record (EHR) systems to HealtheConnections.

Are you eligible? 

Nineteen of HealtheConnections’ participating organizations - representing 515 providers - are currently enrolled in this program to receive $700,000 in incentives. These 19 organizations use nine different EHR systems which are currently integrated with HealtheConnections: Chartmaker, eClinicalWorks, EPIC, GECentricity, Inforia, Medent, Netsmart, NextGen, and Vitera.  The original program launched in 2014, funded through NY State Department of Health with monies received from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS),  requires participating organizations, that service a minimum of 20-30% Medicaid patients are are Meaningful Use Stage 1 eligible, to send a robust set of patient encounter information to HealtheConnections.

The program has been expanded to include NYS Regulated Articles 28, 36 and 40 Facilities (Nursing Homes, Diagnostic and Treatment Centers, Certified Home Health Care Agencies and Long Term Home Health Care Programs, Hospice), Behavioral Health Providers, Medicaid eligible Providers that accept Medicare and Medicaid eligible Providers.

DSRIP 2017: Lessons Learned and Paving the Way for Success (Dec. 6):

HealtheConnections President & CEO Rob Hack will join a panel of speakers to discuss  some of the critical challenges—and solutions—that lay ahead as the implementation and optimization of the DSRIP program continues forward.

For the second year in a row, HealtheConnections sponsored the Start Line for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The walk was held on Sunday, October 16 to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.  

This year the walk relocated to the SRC Arena on the OCC campus. Over 4,500 people attended the event. One lucky walker who stopped by the HealtheConnections table was awarded a gift card to Mirbeau Inn & Spa after correctly guessing the number of pink and white candies inside a jar. (There were 938 candies, and she guessed 925!)

Everyone who visited the HealtheConnections table received a pair of pink sunglasses to wear for the walk around the campus, the perfect accessory for what turned out to be a sunny fall day!

Overall, $382,500 was raised for the American Cancer Society.
