Our annual Advent Wreath-Making event is returning to the Sunday School hour (11:15 - 12:00) on the first Sunday of Advent. Please come join us as we begin the season of preparation for the birth of our Lord in this traditional, meaningful way.
Please contact Millie or sign up in the Parish Hall to let us know that your family is planning on making a wreath so that we have enough materials on hand.
We also need assistance gathering the fresh greenery used in making the wreaths. The traditional, and symbolic greenery used include evergreens (pine, cedar and fir), bay laurel, rosemary, ivy and holly. If you can provide any of these, please contact Millie Johnson. Advent candles will be available for purchase on this date to complete your wreath.

Christ Church has created a new pictorial directory. If you are interested in having a PDF version emailed to you, please contact the
church office.
We have printed 50 directories which will be available starting Sunday, November 20th. Bill Querin will place directories in Parish Hall with a basket for donations.
If more printed copies are needed, we can do another printing.
Thank you for your patience while we created this in-house directory.

December 6 Deadline to sign up for trip
|
We made a lot of progress this week in planning our 2017 DR Mission Trip. We bought a group ticket from Valdosta to Atlanta to Santo Domingo and made a down payment.
We have 11 confirmed members of the team now and can take as many as eighteen.
The deadline to join the team is December 6, 2016, when team members need to send in the $200 non-refundable deposit and a copy of the photo pages in their passport.
We plan to renovate and add on to a house for our longtime friend and interpreter Leidy Rosario and her husband and son. In addition, we will teach Vacation Bible School and host the splash party for the children as well as small projects around the school if we have enough money.

Our annual DR dinner and auction to raise funds for scholarships and our project expenses will be on Thursday, February 23, 2017. As in previous years, we will hold this gala event at the Cotton Corner in downtown Valdosta. Consider donating one or more items to be auctioned during the event. Please save that date!

Saturday, December 17, 2016

On Saturday, December 17, the Lunch Bunch group would like to give each child who comes to the delivery spots at Ora Lee West and Hudson Dockett housing projects a small gift for Christmas. We are looking for 120 small wrapped gifts under $10, the gift can be for a boy or a girl under the age of 14. We will have a collection box in the narthex, or you can drop them by the church office. Please have them to the church no later than Thursday, December 15, 2016. Thank you for your help.

Gary and I and the family would like to thank all who have expressed their prayers and concern in our recent tragedy. We have felt so much love and know we are truly blessed to have the Christ Church family surround us and uplift us. Thank you seems like such a small word, but our hearts are filled with gratitude and love. We know with God's help and your prayers, we will be able to face the days ahead.
Blessings to you all,
Nancy Lutsko
