Employment Law Updates
There has been a recent flurry of activity in the world of employment law.  Thanks to Julie Pace for keeping our membership up to date on the new laws, executive orders, and last minute changes to them.  Be sure that you are up to speed on all of these issues by referencing the attached documents.

Court injunction for salary exemption changes  and the  original ruling  that it affects regarding DOL wage and hour law for exempt employees.
 
Proposition 206: Minimum Wage and Paid Sick Time  was passed in the November election and goes into effect 7/1/17 for Arizona employers.

Executive order currently set to affect federal contracts issued after 1/1/17 requiring 7 days of paid sick time to be accrued for employees working on or in support of federally funded contracts.

Guidance for new I-9 Form  along with the new  form  and  instructions  that must be put into use by 1/22/2017.

TPT Reform... (yes, again)
TPT is back on the legislative agenda and changes of some type are likely in the coming year.  Exactly what those changes will be is not yet certain - point of sale was looking likely but now not so much, discussion has included reverting back to the "old way" of doing things with prime contracting...the bottom line is, those of us who work with and best understand the impact of the reporting should provide our input to the lawmakers.  Please, take an active stance on this issue and contact your legislator.
