LAKE WHITE VISIT - October 18, 2017

While in town Wednesday for open office hours at the Pike County Government Center, Speaker Cliff Rosenberger visited Lake White and met with Representatives from Ohio Department of Natural  Resources.

Following is a statement from Speaker Cliff Rosenberger:

"Thanks to Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Zehringer and his team for meeting me and local community leaders in Pike County to provide an update on the state of Lake White and answer our questions. We need to have all hands on deck to solve this complex issue. I believe we all have a common goal of seeing a fully operational lake sooner rather than later for the community to enjoy for years to come".   www.facebook.com/cliffrosenberger

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

October is National Long-Term Care Residents' Rights Month, a time to learn more about the rights of individuals residing in our region's nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  This year's theme - It's All About Me: My Life, My Care, My Choices, was selected to call attention to the respect and dignity of every resident. By listening to residents' voices and respecting their choices, we honor their lives and experiences, as well as treat them with dignity and respect.

LOCAL MEDICARE
PRESENTATIONS SCHEDULED
Pike County  - October 30

Are you a Medicare beneficiary? Want to find out more information about
how the Medicare Annual Coordinated Election Period can work for you?
Want to stay informed and healthy and save money? If so, then mark your
calendar for Medicare informational presentations and counseling events
that will be available this Fall in your county.

These free events are made possible by the Ohio Department of
Insurance's Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP),
which travels the state each fall to help Ohioans, family members and caregivers understand the different Medicare coverage options and available financial assistance. Medicare's Annual Coordinated Election Period starts October 15th and ends December 7th. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can evaluate their current coverage and make the determination on whether they should switch to a plan that will better support their needs. Those on Medicare are strongly encouraged to attend a session, which will provide helpful information and assistance.

The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) can also help you throughout the year to answer any questions you might have concerning your Medicare coverage, specifically with help surrounding the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Coverage Low Income Subsidy "Extra Help" Program and the Medicare Savings Program (assistance with Part B premium). If you would like to learn more about these programs and whether or not you are eligible to receive discounts on your prescription drugs, please call our office at 1-800-582-7277 and ask for extension 250.

Local Medicare presentations are scheduled for:

Get a Front Row Seat to Democracy in Action

It takes an army of over 35,000 people to ensure things run smoothly on Election Day and we're calling on you to enlist.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted's office is working with business leaders like you to get the word out about how anyone can become a poll worker, and in doing so, secure themselves a front seat to democracy in action.

In addition to serving their community, those who sign up will also be compensated for their time. They will earn around $100 for their service on Election Day and will also be paid for attending a training session. This could be used as extra spending money or even donated to a charity of their choosing.

It is important that elections in Ohio run smoothly and we hope you will consider making a day for democracy by partnering with Secretary Husted's office to get the word out to your employees about this important opportunity to serve the community, state and country.

For more information on making your business a partner, or to sign up to be a poll worker, visit www.DayforDemocracy.com.
