Hi Friends!

I look forward to being in worship with you this Sunday!  Last week, Pastor Jeff challenged us to prepare for the new sermon series "Follow" by reading the entire Gospel of Matthew over the next few weeks.  That's just a few chapters a day, so I hope you'll join in; and I pray that God opens you up to new ways of following him through this Gospel reading.  If you missed last week's message, you can watch it here.

Beginning at the End
Beginning at the End

This week, I'll bring to a close our sermon series called "Begin."  God is constantly beginning a new thing in us and in our world.  This Sunday, we'll look at how God begins a new thing in the church - specifically, the first church created right after Pentecost (Acts 2: 42-47).  What was foundational for this first Spirit-filled
church, and what can we learn from this church as we begin a new season at LCPC?  Look forward to seeing you soon!

In the meantime, please pray for our brothers and sisters in Texas impacted by Hurricane Harvey!  If you want to contribute to relief efforts there, we are accepting donations for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), a disaster relief agency that will be assisting in hurricane relief efforts.

Bob Beart, LCPC member and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance volunteer, is headed to Houston tomorrow to help train relief workers, so please pray for him!  He is also willing to lead a service trip to Houston in the coming year for those at LCPC who want to help in a more hands-on way.  If you are interested in participating or learning more, please reach out to me to explore some possible dates and opportunities.

Peace in Christ,
Megan Katerjian, Interim Associate Pastor (Outreach)

School supplies are needed for about 100+ children who will move into Door of Hope in the coming year. Disrupted from school by homelessness, these kids will be re-enrolled in school and will start off the school year right with your help!  Find a list in the Narthex or by clicking on the slide above.

Launch Sunday brings us back to our regular three worship service times. Pastor Jeff Hoffmeyer will be starting a new preaching series.  The uplifting worship will combine gospel harmonies with guitars, mandolin, fiddles, banjo and dobro. It will be a morning of joyful praise!

Join us as we bring Sunday afternoon to a close and prepare for the week ahead.  We gather in the intimacy of the Cook Prayer chapel for an experience of sacred close-up jazz with the Jack Lantz Trio.
