#DeviceFreeDinner
Take the Challenge
Eating family dinners together can have long term beneficial impacts on kids including:
- Better Nutrition
- Better Academic Performance
- Few Behavioural Problems
- Lower Risk of substance abuse
But, our ever-present technology is making it increasingly difficult to make this happen.
A great American website,
Commonsense Media, is challenging all families to
Take the Challenge
today to have a device from dinner. Over on
Understood.org, five families with children with learning and attention issues share how they are having device free meals. Maybe their stories will provide you with some inspiration to have your own #DeviceFreeDinner.

Public Parent Workshop - Tuesday, December 6th
Supporting your Anxious Child
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health disorders in youth. Sometimes anxiety is easy to identify, but other times it may present itself in unexpected ways, such as tummy aches, disruptive behaviour, restlessness, clinginess, or attendance problems. Serious untreated anxiety tends to get worse over time and may lead to serious consequences. The good news is that children and adolescents can learn to manage and overcome anxiety, and you can help them do that. In this session, you will learn practical strategies for helping your child manage their anxiety. Presenter: Nicole Caines, Registered Psychologist
