ASiF's 9th Annual Holiday Open House & Trunk Show Event...
On Saturday, December 10th from 11am - 4pm, ASiF invites the public for an unforgettable Holiday Art Gift - Shopping, Making & Celebrating experience!
Come share a cup of nog or hot spiced chai and delicious holiday treats. Shop for original one of a kind art gifts, attend gift making workshops and feast your eyes on guest trunk show artists' wares while surrounded by hundreds of original, small fine artworks in the center's beautiful gallery!
If you've been to an ASiF Open House before, you know there's always something uniquely creative in store for you! Bring the entire family to share in this fun, creative and memorable holiday celebration!
Jewelry trunk show artists Cabrina Channing, Al Martinez & Melodie Yun will set up shop for the day with special displays of their gorgeous wares!
Cabrina Channing's stunning heirloom quality gothic style jewelry appeals to a wide range of jewelry enthusiasts. Her g
orgeous classic bezel set stone works beg to be overturned in a bearing of their own special hidden intricacies and delicate lace-like windows through which the color and light of the stones they encase shine. Her Nature Cast line reveals her love of the natural world with the use of sea creatures such as starfish, seahorses, and mammalian bone and other small skeletal wonders cast in sterling silver.
Though known in local circles for his "Leaf a Day Project" of 2015 which culminated in a display of 365 hand fabricated metal leaves,
to express the full breadth of Al Martinez as an artist, one might use words such as Renaissance man or
Steam Punk Artist.
The population of his Leaf a Day Project continues to this day. From simple 3D renderings of miniature oak and gingko leaves to completely imagined studded leaves, each with their own poetry and lore. While some of Al's beautiful and surreal expressions of leaves were designed as wearable art, others are collected simply as beautiful objects.
As a special holiday offering at the December 10th Open House event, Martinez will offer, throughout the day, a series of one-on-one metal art gift making/mentoring sessions for individual guests interested in trying their hand at making their very own leaf pendant, pin or key charm as a holiday gift. The cost is $45 per 45 minute session and includes their hand made creation.
ASiF is proud to feature award winning bead artist, Melodie Yun again this year as she never fails to dazzle guests with an irresistible array of gift-able jewelry. A special display of Yun's unique bead embroidery collars, cuffs, pendants and beaded and herkimer diamond earrings will be featured at the December 10th event.
As a special Holiday Open House Event offering, Yun will also offer a Fringe Bead Art Ring - Gift Making Workshop from 1-2pm in the center's community classroom. Students will create a beautiful beaded fringe ring (adjustable in size) for themselves or to give as a gift. Cost for this workshop is by donation of $5 - $10 per student.
Holiday Trunk Show Event guests will also enjoy the ever-changing Smallworks Holiday Show featuring over 300 small gift-able artworks by more than 60 artists. Many agree this is ASiF's best show of the year offering holiday shoppers unique one of a kind fine art gifts! The Smallworks Holiday Show will hang through December 23rd.

METAL ART LEAVES - PENDANT, PIN & KEY CHARM MAKING:
Ongoing throughout the day Al Martinez, Metal Artist & Instructor will offer one-on-one metal art mentoring sessions for adult guests interested in making a custom gift in the form of a leaf pendant, pin or charm for that special gift. $45 per 45 minute mentoring session (includes the cost of one handmade creation).
FRINGE BEAD-ART RING MAKING WORKSHOP:
From 1 - 2pm Melodie Yun of Sierra Bead Art will offer a Fringe Bead Art Ring making workshop. Rings are adjustable in size and make a super sweet gift and package topper. By Donation of $5 - $10.
CLAY ORNAMENT MAKING WORKSHOP:
Between the hours of 1 and 3pm Claudia Jeffers, Ceramic Sculptor and Resident Clay Art Instructor will offer a ceramic ornament making workshop. $3 per ornament.
PAPERCRAFTING WORKSHOP:
Ongoing throughout the day Nancy Schaefer, ASiF ARTsCOOL Instructor, will offer a Paper Crafting Workshop for all ages for guests to create cards, ornaments, wrapping paper and more. Parent-child teams required for ages 6 and under. By Donation of $3 - $5 per handmade creation.

ASiF will present it's winter line up of programs and classes for all ages in a wide range of media. Gift certificates for classes will be available for purchase at this event!

ASiF Art Center & Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11am - 4pm.
The Artists' Studio in the Foothills (ASiF), a 4000 square foot - fully equipped studio art center that opened its doors in 2008, offering classes and workshops in a variety of media for all ages, private and shared studio space for working artists, and a gallery to promote local and visiting artists. Their mission is to nurture the creative spirit of the community, providing a place where are can be made, displayed and appreciated.
ASiF is home to over 20 studio artists and instructors, offering classes for adults and children in drawing, painting, printmaking, encaustics, mosaics, jewelry, metal arts, pottery, sculpture and mixed media.
