Value proposition does double duty

In a continuing quest for uncompromising quality, Durban-based GTV Label Master has replaced two existing rewinders with one ROTOCON Ecoline RCSI 330 finishing machine.

The added compact Erhardt + Leimer (E+L) web guide offers accurate and reliable support on a variety of substrates, using integrated infrared or ultrasonic edge sensors.
Streamlining results in universal improvements

Universal Labels & Packaging, among the country's largest privately owned label printers, recently replaced a 2004 MPS EF 430 flexo press with the latest model.

With their new press, an eight-colour job can be set up in 10 minutes with only 30 to 35 metres of waste material, compared to 80 to 100 metres of waste on the older press.

Wink becomes local benchmark

According to Michael Aengenvoort, Wink's flexible dies and other products have fast become benchmarks in terms of quality and delivery times; and this statement is borne out by a number of local printers.

One such happy customer is Donald Wilds, Rotolabel Cape Town's warehouse and logistics manager. Here Wink products in daily use include magnetic die-cutting plates which Donald describes as 'lightweight and easy to handle'.

Screen printing at affordable cost

At Limitless Labels in Paarl, the team is intent on reducing lead times yet maintaining top quality, a philosophy exemplified by the purchase of Kocher+Beck screen exposure and mounting equipment, allowing for in-house production of print-ready screens.

With this installation, Limitless Labels is able to produce a print-ready screen in less than an hour (compared to waiting weeks for imported screens).
Continuing tradition of technology firsts

First Impression Labels made history in 2014 by becoming the first African converter to install a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV digital inkjet label press.

Nici Solomon of PACKAGiNG & Print Media reports that the business continues this pioneering tradition with the latest round of investments: RotoControl's three-colour digital finishing machine and the country's first UV Ray ink curing system.
