St. Dominic,
Pray for Us
If you have a prayer request, please email [email protected].
Dear School Families,

In honor of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, our second graders and their families gathered together to make their own rosary.  I had the opportunity to stop by and share in their joy.  It was a sweet moment to see the families making their rosary and the children were so proud.  I was able to pray with the families and shared my own experience about praying the rosary.  It is a beautiful prayer that reminds us that Jesus loved us so much that he died on the cross for us. The rosary tells the story of Jesus' life in four parts: The Joyful Mysteries, The Sorrowful Mysteries, The Glorious Mysteries, The Luminous Mysteries.  Each time we pray the rosary we should focus on Jesus' life as well as a special person or intention that we want to pray for.

We pray for our 8th graders who are enjoying fresh mountain air at Silver Spur in Tuolumne County.  We look forward to seeing them tomorrow.

I would like to thank our teachers who have stayed late each day this week to make up parent conferences that were missed last week.

Today our students practiced how to duck and cover during the "Earthquake Great Shake Out".  I encourage your family to plan home strategies for emergency preparedness.  Family Home Plan

Holy Rosary Church is hosting "Alpha" a faith formation night to gather, share food and have good conversation for those who have questions about the faith, are new to the faith or want to deepen their faith.  Check out https://alphausa.org/about/ for more information on Alpha.

I am excited about our 4th Sunday mass this weekend.  We are hosting a breakfast, a boutique with great raffle baskets, special vendor sales, and an open house for Junior High.  Students in uniform will receive a free dress pass for Monday, October 30.  Grades with the most participation will receive an ice cream social courtesy of PTG.  Remember to pick up your blue parish donation envelope.  100% of your donation directly supports the Holy Rosary Tuition Assistance program.   I hope to see many of our students on Sunday.

I invite you to join us for 8:00 a.m. mass tomorrow.

2nd Grade Families @ Rosary Bead Making Night

Classroom News:

6B is continuing Second Step.  Students shared that they really didn't understand "bystander"; they now know that talking about it and/or doing nothing is just as harmful as the bullying itself.

Fourth grade is close to finishing their class novel. The kids cannot stop reading it! There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom is a wonderful story and has them laughing and learning about what makes a good friend!

Third grade began their saint research projects today. Our students picked their saints and used the computers to conduct their research. This is to prepare them for their saint poster presentations and All Saints Day mass

Second grade invited parents and students to a Rosary Bead Making night on Tuesday.  It was a fun time and it was great to see families working together having fun.  Today our class took our newly made beads and prayed part of the Rosary in the prayer garden.
