Here in the Ozarks it has finally gotten colder than chilly. Makes me wish I had gotten the rear tire on my PC800 changed earlier. But when the sun comes out even a cold morning can get nice, and I've continued to see other riders out enjoying what's probably the downhill side of the Autumn leaves.
I'm working on a couple of projects these days. Of course, Steve and I are doing the preliminary work on the 2017/18 issue of Cruise the Ozarks. It will be bigger and better than ever. I'm also working on updating my Cruise the Ozarks anthology of the editorial content from the first eight issues of the publication. This will be a 4-color glossy paperback book that will comprise over 100 pages of great rides and destinations. You'll definitely enjoy it
as you plan your rides to the Ozarks next year. Keep an eye out for our roll out of this book.
This week is Thanksgiving and the official start of the Holiday Season.
I'm thankful that Cruise the Ozarks and the Cruise the Ozarks.com have taken off. I thank you guys for helping make it the best, most useful motorcycle planning tool in the Ozarks. Many of you have let us know that you really enjoy CTO. My desire is that we never let you down with the content and quality of the publication and website.
And as Christmas comes upon us may you have a joyful time with family and friends. Let them know you love and appreciate them. As you reflect on this soon to be past year, please take time to remember what the season is all about and don't let the stress and hustle and bustle of this time of year rule your life. Sit back and enjoy it as you “Cruise through the Holidays.”
Have a great Thanksgiving, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks again,
David
From Steve Johnson, Online/Offline Advertising Manager:
2016 has been a wonderful year here at Cruise The Ozarks. We're so appreciative of all the great sponsors who helped us grow this publication this past year, and who have already committed to making our next issue (Issue #9 coming out in April 2017) much bigger and better still.
But, most of all, I tip my hat to the tens of thousands of readers who love learning about the off-the-beaten paths here in the Ozark Mountains because that is what makes this job so worthwhile.
Like David Bell says: Our ultimate goal is to provide you with information on the best rides, destinations and motorcycle-friendly businesses across the Ozarks. When we get feedback on how much someone has enjoyed taking some particular motorcycle tour through the Ozarks, or they met some great people during their stay here, or they found peace and quiet and deep relaxation during their visit, then this labor of love in putting together the 'Cruise The Ozarks Rider's Guide' is worth every bit of sweat and tears that go into it.
Finally, I want to thank my incredible wife, Karen, for her support and love as I become obsessed at times with growing this publication. I crowned her "Miss Cruise The Ozarks" this summer when she helped us at the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival bike show and rally, and I think it's a title she'll keep this coming year. She truly has helped provide the vision alive on how 'Cruise The Ozarks' can help motorcycle riders find the best of her native state of Arkansas.... and she doesn't mind us helping to showcase Missouri either!
My Thanksgiving and holiday wishes are for you and your family to experience faith, and love, and awe as you return home from the Ozarks after a great ride, and that your days are full of fun, of love, of health and happiness, and that your heart and your imagination holds tight to a little piece of the Ozarks. We hope our little publication brought you enjoyment in 2016. We hope you'll return in 2017 and for years to come.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for follow our ride suggestions. Thank you for supporting our mission. Thank you for following us at 'Cruise News' and online on our website (www.CruiseTheOzarks.com) or on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/cruisetheozarks). Thank you for riding safe and enjoying great rides across the Ozark Mountains. Thank you for telling others about the great destinations you've experienced. And, thank you for your support. We appreciate you. Because without you, we wouldn't have a reason to publish. So until we meet again here at 'Cruise News' we want to say:
Happy Thanksgiving!
Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!
See you after the holiday season with a brand new issue of 'Cruise News' kicking off the 2017 riding season here in the Arkansas and Missouri Ozarks!
Yours truly,
Steve Johnson
