Health Paperwork Needed
We have quite a few students who did not submit the required PA Department of Health paperwork for their files when they started school in September. Please forward the paperwork to the main office no later than December 1.

11th Graders - Physical Needed
The School Health Law of Pennsylvania requires that all children must have a medical examination upon entry into grade 11.  A medical examination is also required for those children who have transferred to York into any grade from other states or from other Pennsylvania areas and who have not sent records of previous examinations.  Please click  here for the School Physical Form to be completed by a private physician.

7th Graders - Dental Record Needed
The School Health Law of Pennsylvania requires that children receive a dental examination upon entry into grade 7. Please click  here  for the School Dental Form to be completed by a private dentist.

Fall Play - "A Christmas Carol"
York Catholic High School students will present "A Christmas Carol," by Charles Dickens and adapted by Show Director, Shannon Hallisey, on Friday, November 18, at 7 PM, Saturday, November 19, at 7 PM, and Sunday, November 20, at 2 PM in the high school auditorium.

Join Jacob Marley and his ghostly friends as they attempt to renew the Christmas spirit of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge.  This not too scary, family-friendly adaptation of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" includes all of your favorite characters with some new twists.  Reminisce with Scrooge as he remembers his childhood, laugh with the Cratchits as they make the best of their meager Christmas feast, sing along with an ensemble of carolers and townspeople and rejoice as you enjoy the magic, wonder, and spirit of Christmas.

Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, and $2 for children under 12. There is a family maximum of $14.
Musical Auditions
Students in grades 7-12 are invited to audition for this year's spring musical, "Guys and Dolls," on Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 3-5 PM in the auditorium. Students should prepare to sing a song from the standard musical repertoire and do a cold read from the script. No previous experience needed!

Click here  for the Audition Packet.

Questions can be sent to Mr. Stebbings at
[email protected] or Ms. Pantano at [email protected] . Save the dates for the performances March 3-5.
"Values Matter" at York Catholic
As our students learn about the world and who they want to be, the values they are taught to hold close to their hearts during their time at YC are possible because of the contributions of many.

Values Matter is a shared spirit of support and friendship and is at the core of a York Catholic education.  Faith. Mind. Heart. Family. This is what sets York Catholic apart. This is what makes all the difference in the lives of our students and families far beyond graduation day.

Thank you for partnering with us as we promote the importance of values at YC for generations to come.  Please support York Catholic's Annual Fund with your online donation by clicking here and please share this message with friends and family!

Thanks for your support of a York Catholic education where "Values Matter."

Businesses Giving Back to YC
During this holiday season, there are two places who are giving back to YC for every dollar you spend.

Amazon Smile
If you typically do any of your Christmas shopping online at amazon.com, go to www.smile.amazon.com instead and the Amazon Smile Foundation will donate .5% of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to York Catholic's Student Aid and Endowment Fund.  Simply select York Catholic as the recipient of the donation when making your purchase. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know -- same products, same prices, same service -- with an added benefit for your favorite cause.

Giant A+
Giant's A+ School Rewards program offers schools like York Catholic a unique opportunity to receive a percentage of sales made by YC families.  Participation in this program does not deduct personal bonus points from your individual Giant card. In fact, it allows you to leverage those hard earned points to do good for YC!  Please consider registering your bonus card account and be sure to select York Catholic as your beneficiary. If you've already registered your Bonus Card number in this program, thank you! If you have not registered your card, you can do so by visiting  http://giantfoodstores.com/aplus/register-card/ .   If you wish to register and would like assistance, please submit your bonus card number to Alexandra at  [email protected] .

These are two great ways for YC to earn thousands in free money.  Thank you for your support!
Bingo
Over the years, revenue generated by the Athletic Association's Bingo has provided generous support to YC athletics.  At its inception, Bingo was held weekly, but approximately 5 years ago, a decision was made to cut back to monthly due to declining attendance, volunteers, and revenue.

During the last several months, there has been a noticeable decline in revenue and volunteer support.  These factors led to the decision to cancel Bingo for the foreseeable future.

The York Catholic Athletic Association is currently in the process of developing new fundraisers to support YC athletics.  As always, we welcome your support and ideas.
Video Contest
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is now accepting submissions from students in grades 7 through 12 for a video public service announcement contest. The theme is "Turn Around, Don't Drown."  The deadline to submit a video PSA is January 31. The winner of the PSA contest will work with the PA Association of Broadcasters to develop a broadcast quality television commercial based off their winning entry to be aired statewide the final two weeks of March. Detailed information regarding guidelines, eligibility, and deadlines is available online at www.ReadyPA.org/contest
