Live! Hotel and Conference Center Celebrates Topping Off
We've seen a lot of ribbon cutting ceremonies, but Live! Hotel and Conference Center's "Topping Off Ceremony" was definitely the largest so far! Earlier this week a huge crowd, including Chamber staff, looked on as a construction crew raised an enormous steel beam to complete the top of the building. The hotel, which is expected to be finished in 2018 will be located right next to Maryland Live! Casino and Arundel Mills.

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory Ground Breaking
Chamber President & CEO Leonardo McClarty was happy to lend a hand and a shovel at the ground breaking for the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory's new Research and Development facility earlier this week. Set to open in 2010, the four-story building will be a blend of complex labs and office space that will primarily house APL's Research and Exploratory Development Department.

Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman is looking for applicants for the Commission for Women. The committee, comprised of twelve members, helps promote the economic, social and political equality of women in Howard County. Applications can be submitted to the County Executive for approval up until
November 10th.
