The
St. Thomas Choir returns from a well-deserved summer break on
Sunday, 10 September f
or the 10:30a High Mass. Over the course of the 2017-18 season, the choir will sing a great variety of wonderful music, from medieval chants by Hildegard von Bingen, to 21st century works by Dr. Byron Adams, a local composer and parishioner of St. Thomas.
For
All Souls' on 2 November, the St. Thomas Choir sings the Gregorian
Requiem Mass alongside the
Burial Service by William Croft (1678-1727), and for
Christmas, the choir sings Haydn's
Missa Brevis in G Major. At this year's
Christmas Midnight Mass, a string orchestra joins the choir to beautify the occasion.
Lent includes powerful music by Morley, Victoria, Purcell, Zelenka, Michael Haydn, and Ola Gjeilo, and on
Easter, the choir sings John Rutter's lively
Gloria.
Please mark your calendars for the third annual
St. Thomas Choir Concert and Fundraiser, scheduled to take place on
Saturday, 2 June 2018 at 8pm. This is an annual fundraiser for the beloved choir, and all proceeds benefit the music program.
Calling All Singers
The Choir is looking for volunteer singers: sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses! Singing in the Parish Choir is a fun and meaningful way to give to the community, all-the-while learning how to effectively and skillfully sing the musical treasury of the Church. To inquire and/or schedule an audition, please
