STUDENT SAFETY !

CROSSWALK and
BUS LOADING AREA

To insure the safety of all students and teachers please use the following guidelines at pickup.

Cars exiting the drive through car line should never turn right into the OLPH parking lot on the side of Maguire Hall.

Cars must proceed to 2nd Street and turn right.

Once at the corner of 2nd and Miller do not turn right until the children crossing have cleared the intersection and the teacher has made it back to the sidewalk.

CRISIS PREPAREDNESS

The school has detailed crisis and safety procedures in place that enable us to respond quickly and effectively in the event of any crisis or emergency situation. We work closely with local emergency personnel to ensure that our procedures are sound and complete.  School staff has recently updated their safety and crisis training.  Teachers are reviewing the safety and crisis procedures with students in preparation for drills which include building evacuation, lock down, clearing a classroom, and bus emergencies.

In the event of a crisis at the school, the first priority is the immediate safety of students and staff.  Once the safety of all is ensured, the next priority is communication with parents.  If an emergency of any kind happens at the school, parents and families are asked to follow these directives:

Wait to hear from us.
You will be notified of the situation via the RenWeb alert system and RenWeb based email.  Please do not call the school, and do not call or text your child, your child's teachers, or anyone else on campus.  It is important that everyone on campus is free to receive and follow directions given by emergency personnel, and it is important that everyone off campus receive accurate information from the school administration.

Follow any directions given through the alerts.
For example, if it is necessary for you to pick up your children from school, you will be given specific instructions such as location, parking, etc.

In the event of a dismissal other than the usual...
Reunification procedures require that parents pick up their own children and bring a photo ID.  In a reunification situation, children will only be released to adults who are listed on the emergency contact and release form.

Your children are precious, and we take seriously our responsibility to keep all of them safe each day and in the event of a crisis situation.

A NOTE FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB

Welcome  to the school year. As you can imagine events at school are in full swing. For those who aren't familiar with the Booster Club, our mission is to  Participate, Donate & Support our children while at OLPH. We accomplish this with a wide range of tasks and events such as Spaghetti Dinner, Homeroom Parents, Springfest, Guardian Angels, Grandparents' Mass, Fun Run, Catholic Schools Week, and on and on.

My name is Lisa Smith and I will be serving as the Booster Club President this year. I have a 7th grade boy and have been a part of the OLPH community since 4th grade.

One of my goals this year as Booster Club President is to increase involvement from as many people as possible - new parents, junior high parents, parents who have lots of time and parents who just have a bit of time. I am really passionate about getting as many hands on deck as possible.

Please consider this your open invitation to join in.  I don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to volunteer, enrich our kids' lives or participate in the amazing community that is OLPH, so please don't be shy.

You can reach out to me directly at [email protected] or (201) 575-1699 and we can find a role for you. We have a wide variety of activities that require different time and talents. As a new mom in 4th grade I dove right into Booster Club, and as a result met a lot of amazing people at OLPH in different grades. So if you are new to school I really encourage you to reach out me and let's connect.

I am wishing us all much success this year!
