On Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17, CeCe the Stormwater Trooper spoke with local Hesperia residents about the importance of keeping our Mojave River Watershed clean in the High Desert. From recycling tips to carwash advice, CeCe and her friends educated folks of all ages on the dangers of stormwater pollution and how to prevent runoff.
Thank you to everyone that stopped by our booth and signed a pledge to keep our watershed clean! Were you able to make the event? Here are a few key takeaways:
- Never apply fertilizer or pesticide 24 hours before it rains
- Recycle leaves, grass clippings and other yard waste, instead of blowing, sweeping or hosing them into the street or gutter
- Always bring a doggie bag when you take your pet on a walk and never let them drink out of puddles
- Take your car to a carwash facility with proper drainage instead of washing it at home

Keeping our Mojave River Watershed clean is important for our future generations. By educating children at an early age, we are stopping future pollution in its unwanted tracks!
One of the ways we educate children is through school assemblies where we present to students, grades K-12, on what they can do to keep our Mojave River Watershed clean and pollution free. Our interactive presentation includes a video, sing-along song, trivia game, prizes and even a surprise visit from our friend Millie the Corgi from the Victor Valley Animal Protective League.
By the end, we are proud to make these students official Stormwater Troopers! If you are interested in having us at your child's school, please let us know by emailing
