Bears vs. Eagles September 1!

Student presale tickets for $5.00 on sale during all lunches Friday
General admission and student tickets can be purchased online:

This Friday, September 1, at 7:30 pm, we will celebrate the first varsity football home game of the 2017 season as our Cambridge Bears host Milton High School. We do anticipate a very large crowd this Friday and suggest that fans plan on arriving early. Parking will be limited and there is a fee of $5.00 to park in any school lot as well as the lower lot at King's Ridge High School. Money collected for parking goes directly to the Cambridge Football booster club. Free parking will be available at Stone Creek Church. Parking attendants will be located throughout campus to assist you throughout the evening. View this map detailing the parking areas and exit plan following the game. Please note that every exit will be a right hand turn only.

For parents dropping off high school students, please use the Bethany Bend entrance and exit. You can use the carpool lanes to drop your student off or pick them up. The Cogburn Road entrance will be for paid parking and parking passes only. Please note that the access roads East and West of the school building will not be accessible. For parents/guardians of middle and elementary school students, be aware that all middle or elementary school students attending Friday's festivities must be accompanied by an adult and cannot be dropped off at the school.

Our 9th Grade Tailgate festivities will begin at 5:30 pm in the courtyard. Students will be led to the stadium by the Cambridge Band and CLAWS Mentors. Support the Cambridge Band by purchasing a football program for the 2017 Season. Football programs will be available at the entrance gate and in the stands for $20.

Next GROWL Wednesday
September 6, 2017
Our second GROWL Wednesday, September 6, is almost here!  On this day, all 9th graders will have the opportunity to learn ways to leverage their one-one-one technology for greater academic success.  All 9th graders should bring their personal devices to the session in the auditorium so that they may participate in the interactive lessons.  Students participating in an Intramural Sport should bring/wear their GROWL T-shirt.

10th - 12th grade students may once again personalize this time to meet their own needs.  Supervised study/gathering spaces will be available in the Student Center, classroom 2428, and the online lab.  For all students, first period will start at 10:50 am.

Based on feedback from our first GROWL day, we will now keep the back gate on Highway 9 open until 11:00.  Parents may also use the access road that runs parallel to Cogburn Road to drop off students in front of the cafeteria doors (facing Kings Ridge). The access road next to the gym will be closed for safety reasons. All students who arrive after 8:20 am must enter the building through the side cafeteria doors that face Cogburn Road.

Any student who arrives on campus after 7:50 am must either remain on campus or check out at the Attendance Office using the proper procedures.

Nerswick named agriscience ambassador

Cambridge High agriscience teacher Sarah Nerswick recently completed the DuPont National Agriscience Teachers Ambassador Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Upon completing the program, Nerswick became an Agriscience Teacher Ambassador, joining the other 369 agriscience teachers from across the country who have earned that designation.

Selection for the academy is a highly competitive process, with agricultural educators from across the United States applying for a limited number of annual openings.

Those selected become ambassador candidates, who attend the academy in Phoenix to learn about inquiry-based teaching methods as well as how to identify the science that is already present in many agriculture topics.

Student Center Volunteers
The Cambridge Student Center is in need of some daily parent volunteers to help support the students who visit our facility.  The busiest times are during the three lunch periods (10:30 am -1:30 pm), and before school.  The volunteer's main job is to help the students sign in, check passes and keep the line moving along. In addition, students are able to check-out books, print assignments, and get help with their Microsoft Surfaces. This year we have added an extended morning time for the Wednesday GROWL times.  If you are not able to work the entire shift, that is okay, any time you have to help is appreciated; just put a note in the comments if you are coming in at a later time.
Please sign up here.
