The AADC continues its 95-year legacy of empowering women by promoting and developing alumnae connections that strengthen our alumnae sisterhood.

Save the Date for AADC 95th Anniversary Celebration and 
Alumnae Reunion Weekend -- April 19 - 21, 2018

We have so much to celebrate during our 95th anniversary! Save the date as we herald this important milestone, as well as celebrate Alumnae Reunion Weekend 2018. Events taking place during our anniversary weekend from April 19 to 21, 2018 include: Thursday - An Evening to Honor AADC Benefactors; Friday - Vanguard Reunion Luncheon followed by tours, activities and a special panel discussion on our 95 years of success; Saturday morning - AADC Alumnae Reunion Convocation in Voorhees Chapel, followed by our Sisterhood BBQ lunch, class photos, afternoon tours and activities; and Saturday evening - our Forward Together Gala: From Our Founding Into Our Future, to be held at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. AADC Memorabilia Committee Hosts Workshop About Preserving Photographs

Join us for an informative workshop -- Caring for Photographs -- on  Tuesday, October 24, presented by AADC Memorabilia Committee member Janet Riemer '56, a retired Preservation Archivist, who will share her expertise and tips, as well as an overview of the history of conservation up to digital photos. The workshop will be held at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center, light refreshments at 12:30 pm, workshop from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Space is limited.

AADC Central New Jersey Regional Connection Gathering Hosted by Debbie Lynch '79, Includes "Voices of Women Advocates" History Presentation

Join sister alumnae in the Central New Jersey region for the AADC Central New Jersey  Regional Connection Group Gathering at the Flemington home of Debbie Lynch '79 at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 29. Enjoy remarks from AADC leadership and an historical presentation about suffragists, as actress and storyteller Laurie MacDonnell-Gaulke shares from the voices of women advocates who fought for women's right to vote.

Discuss "Behold the Dreamers" at AADC Black Alumnae Network  Evelyn Sermons Field '49 Literary Society

Join us for our discussion about "Behold The Dreamers," by Imbolo Mbue, recipient of the 2017 PEN/Faulkner Award, whose book is an Oprah's Book Club pick. We will meet at 12:30 pm on November 4 at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center. Light snacks and water will be provided. In keeping with our health and wellness theme for the year, participants are encouraged to bring healthy snacks to share

Mark Your Calendar for AADC Fall Alumnae Council &  Luncheon

All alumnae are welcome to attend this important and informative meeting on Saturday, November 11, in Neilson Dining Hall at 8:30 am. Alumnae Council is held bi-annually to provide updates on the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College. We especially encourage Class Officers, particularly Alumnae Council Representatives, to attend this meeting and share pertinent  information with their classmates.  Refreshments will be served before and during the meeting.   A luncheon immediately following the meeting will include the presentation of the 2017 Margaret T. Corwin Award, the highest award for service to the AADC, to Debbie Lynch '79.

The Alumnae Outreach Subcommittee will hold its second meeting on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:30 pm at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center (phone option available). We will review upcoming appeals such as Giving Tuesday, and discuss tips to reach class goals and participation to ensure a successful 95th Anniversary & Alumnae Reunion Weekend in April!

The AADC Awards Committee is seeking nominations. Nominate an alumna or friend of the AADC for an Alumnae Award. AADC Regional Connection Group Gatherings Sold Out, Stay Tuned for More

Our AADC Regional Connection Groups are busy these next few months. Due to your enthusiastic responses, the following gatherings are sold out: Philadelphia Area Brunch and  Museum of the American Revolution Tour on October 22; AADC New York City Regional Connection Group Chihuly Nights Outing to New York Botanical Gardens on October 26; and the group's Theater Outing to Broadway's "The Band's Visit" on December 10.

Contributing to the AADC Annual Appeal supports alumnae initiatives to advance our diverse and talented alumnae community FORWARD TOGETHER. Per the Agreement, the Annual Appeal is not on behalf of NJC, DRC, Douglass, or Rutgers.

Share Your Stories with the AADC

The AADC connects and engages alumnae through initiatives, programs, events and through ongoing communications. We often hear stories from alumnae about their lives and friendships with each other. We want to take this opportunity to invite you to share your stories. Did you meet an alumna while traveling? Have you connected recently with one of your classmates? Nominations Sought for AADC Board of Directors

Finding and selecting appropriate candidates for Associate Alumnae of Douglass College  Board of Directors positions is critical to the success and leadership of the AADC. We invite you to nominate an alumna for the Board or to an open officer position for the next term, including President, Vice President for Administration and Treasurer. Get Involved and Engaged with the AADC
 
If you have never been active with the AADC, or are already participating in programs and events, you are always welcome to volunteer and get involved! The Associate Alumnae of Douglass College welcomes alumnae volunteers to help out at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center (RSHAC), serve on AADC committees, input alumnae data, plan events and lectures and so much more. If you are already an active volunteer, thank you for sharing your time, talents and treasures. Please spread the word.

California Connection Groups

San Francisco Bay Area Connection Group
The group is now forming a planning committee. Contact Chair  Carolyn Olechowski Gerhardt '68   and include "Douglass Alumnae Bay Area" in the subject line.

N ew Jersey Connection Groups
New Jersey has groups in Southern, Central and Northern areas. For Central, please contact Chair Mindy Raso Kirstein '77. For Southern New Jersey, contact  Kristin Long '78 . For Northern New Jersey, contact Valerie Hughes Zieniuk '05 at the AADC.

Palm Beach, Florida, Area Connection Group

Washington, DC, Metro Area Connection Group

AADC Black Alumnae Network (BAN)

AADC Young Alumnae Network (YAN) 
YAN meets at the Alumnae Center on the second Tuesday of each month, except June, July and August. Contact Chair Heather Tedesco '12.
 
AADC Pride Network
The AADC Pride Network promotes support, networking and celebration among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer-identified and allied alumnae. To get involved, contact Chair Sue Estler '66.

AADC Asian Alumnae Network
AAN seeks to foster a community among alumnae of Asian cultures, including but not limited to: Indian, Chinese, Pakistani, Japanese, Korean, Bangladeshi, Filipino and Sri Lankan. We are looking for an alumna to chair this network. Contact Valerie Hughes Zieniuk '05 at the AADC to help re-start this group.
 
AADC Latina Alumnae Network
The Latina Alumnae Network (LAN) seeks to foster a community among Latina alumnae. If you would like to chair this network, please contact Valerie Hughes Zieniuk '05.
