You are Not Alone. We are One Beach.
Message From President Nino

I think I speak for all of us when I say the past several days have been both disheartening and hopeful. I was pleased to see so many people and organizations stand up to Harvey Weinstein, Amazon's chief of programming Roy Price, and the many other offenders in the stories shared through the #metoo social media movement. But while the actions of these institutions is a step in the right direction, there is still so much more to be done. Women in the workplace, in social settings and in general face these intolerable actions by men too often, and I as a man who respects and values others will not stand for it and will not be silent on it.

To those who shared their stories in the #metoo movement, thank you. To those who have had similar terrible experiences, I am sorry that you had to go through that - but know that I and many others stand with you, believe you and support you. If people out there are in need of assistance due to sexual harassment or assault, I encourage you to use our campus services by visiting www.csulb.edu/notalone. Like with many other issues of the day that try to divide us, it's important that we remind ourselves that we are ONE Beach.
