Worship with Us this Weekend!
Join us for Traditional Worship at 9:30am and/or Informal Worship at 11:00am  this Sunday when our scripture passages will be Psalm 99 and Matthew 22:15-22with a sermon entitled I Love Paying Taxes. Jesus says, when being asked about paying taxes, "Give to the emperor what is the emperor's and give to God what is God's." How do you feel about this? I am called and appreciate being part of the social contract and fabric through the taxes we pay.  How about you?

Help us welcome Barry Luedloff, our Interim Music Director, as he begins his ministry with us! Reminder: Informal Worship song leaders practice on Wednesdays evenings at 5:30pm and the Traditional Worship Choir practices at 6:30pm ALL ARE INVITED! No tryouts! You are in!

All scouts currently participating in fall fundraising are invited to bring their order forms to church this Sunday, October 22. There will be a dedicated table in the gathering space where interested members of our church community can review and order items you are selling after the service.

NEXT SUNDAY - Celebrating 500th Anniversary of the Reformation
5th Sunday - One Family Worship at 10am followed immediately with root beer and pretzels... German influence!? This unique intergenerational service will help us think about and feel the Reformation.
Martin Luther posted the Ninety-Five Theses in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517, and the resulting debate about Christian teaching and practice led to changes that have shaped the course of Western Christianity ever since. The Reformation offers Christians everywhere a liberating way of listening to and sharing the word of God. It teaches that Christ's life flows through faith into a life of service to the neighbor and offers the promise of God's love that makes possible a life of "living, daring confidence in God's grace."

Adult Education this Sunday
Luke John, international student at Eden Seminary, has been with us for worship many times over the summer and fall. He will be leading our Adult Education again this Sunday at both 9:30am and 11am in the Heritage Room. He will facilitate a Bible Study focusing on passages from the Gospel of Mark (his graduate study) and the contexts we each bring to the text.
