Share The Joy

At AAY! our goal is to infuse joy into our workouts, our interactions and our attitudes. We design our programs with lots of variety and fun activities to help make exercise enjoyable for all members. 

We love laughing with our members during challenging workouts, chatting with them after class and truly enjoy getting to know each person as an individual.
 
Our hope is that our joy is contagious and that you are also feeling the joy of working out, living a healthy life and being part of a friendly & supportive community.

This holiday season, we invite you to join us by sharing in the joy of giving, community & celebration!

SHOE & SWEATER DRIVE
In the spirit of giving back to our community, we welcome you to do a great deed for someone in need by participating in our Shoe & Sweater Drive!

We're working with Recycled Resources for the Homeless to collect your gently worn tennis shoes and hooded sweaters to donate to the Northeast (NELA) Homeless Coalition. Bring your donations to the AAY! gym through Friday, December 16th. 
MEMBER APPRECIATION BREAKFAST
What a joy it is to wake up each morning and have the pleasure of working out with such a wonderful group of dedicated, sincere, supportive, kind-hearted people!

To celebrate YOU, our amazing AAY! Members, we will be providing a light breakfast after each class on Friday, December 16th. Please plan to stay for a few minutes after your workout to enjoy some healthy treats & community socializing.
HOLIDAY HOURS
AAY! is committed to YOUR fitness all year long! To help you stay consistent, we will be holding classes throughout the holiday season.

Since many of you have more relaxed schedules the week between Christmas & New Year's, we'll be offering just two classes per day that week. We hope you'll join us whether or not you're back to work.

As 2016 draws to an end, it's a great time to look back at the year and acknowledge how much progress you've made. Where was your fitness level last January, and how has it evolved over the year? 

By acknowledging your progress, you can move forward toward new goals with optimism & confidence.  Whether you're new to exercise, or you've been at it for years, we're sure you can find some areas where you've made improvements.   Here are some  examples:
On the other hand, if you feel like you didn't make the progress you wanted, know that it is never too late! You still have all of December to work toward your 2016 goals. Every workout it is an opportunity to get one step closer.
 
And while we're thinking about our fitness progress, it's a great time to contemplate what you want to accomplish in 2017 and to set some new goals to inspire you toward another happy & healthy year.

We know it's the holidays and you may be planning to celebrate New Year's with a toast. To help you  have a healthier celebration, AAY! Nutritionist, Narina Minassian, is sharing her recipe for a Happy, Healthy Pomegranate Cocktail. 

This drink is under 100 calories and has less sugar than the average cocktail. The seasonal ingredient pomegranate not only adds color & flavor, but also provides powerful antioxidants that are good for your heart and blood flow.  And if you'd prefer a mocktail, use extra seltzer water in place of the alcohol. 

Ingredients:
  • 1 shot (1 oz.) vodka
  • 1/4 cup 100% pomegranate juice 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 rosemary sprig
  • seltzer water
Instructions:

Combine the vodka, pomegranate juice & lemon juice in a shaker. Shake & then pour over ice. Top off with seltzer water and use the rosemary sprig to stir while infusing your drink with the relaxing flavor & aroma of rosemary. Enjoy!

A BIG congratulations to the 14  members  who completed the  5 - 5 - 50  Challenge on Friday! Despite personal obstacles and busy schedules, they each attended AAY! five days a week for the past five weeks and earned $ 50  off their next membership fee!
At AAY, we are a community where we all inspire others AND are inspired by others each day. We motivate each other to push harder, to go further and to achieve our goals.

Together, we foster a sense of belonging, inclusion and mutual respect. We support each other on the journey of health & fitness with a non-judgmental attitude.

We want every single member to feel truly valued and cared for, and we embrace the diversity in our membership with a wide range of ages, fitness levels, athletic abilities and cultural backgrounds.

  • 7 & 9 AM - Dance Fitness OR Basketball Cardio
