Moline Public Library December Programs and Events |
Watercolor Artist Tom Hempel
Saturday, December 17
1:00 pm
Meeting Rooms
Tom Hempel is one of the Quad Cities area's most talented and creative watercolor artists. Mr. Hempel has completed over 1,200 original paintings depicting homes - new and old - schools, universities, public and private office buildings and churches. His work is widely distributed both inside and outside of the Quad Cities. Though well known for the work he has done to date, Tom has recently begun to expand his creative horizons by painting what he "sees" with his eyes and heart and not so much from photos he has taken. He is also creating more whimsical work, combining several different scenes to make a new scene. As a result, he has launched a new era of creativity. Join Tom as he demonstrates and explains his technique. Eleven original Tom Hempel works of art are on display at the Library through January. For a sample of Mr. Hempel's work, visit: Hemple YouTube Video

Thanks for a great year!
As our 10th Anniversary year draws to a close, we'd like to thank you, our patrons, for making 2016 one of our best years yet. Not only was it a year of celebration with events like the 10th Birthday Bash in August and Booked for the Night fundraiser in September, but we also met our goal of fully funding our $200,000 Technology Update and Upgrade Initiative! We couldn't have done it without your support. It is only through the assistance of our patrons who support us with financial gifts to supplement tax-based funding that we are able to provide the highest level of programs and services at t
he Moline Public Library. Please remember the Library with a year-end gift. Donation envelopes are available at our circulation desks, and donations are also accepted online by selecting the 'Donate' button at the top right corner of our website homepage, accessible here: HERE
