Take-Aways From Fall Membership Meeting

The Colorado PGA Fall Membership Meeting held on Monday, Oct. 16, at Heritage Eagle Bend Golf and Country Club approached record attendance. For those unable to join, here are a few of the take-aways.
  • Your Colorado PGA BOD is working for its membership by solidifying the strategic direction; by making an investment into resources; and by monitoring and studying the performance of the Section to best position the Section to meet the needs of the membership now and in the future.
  • The Colorado PGA REACH has directly impacted our PGA Members over the last 10 years through:
    • Golf In Schools
    • Growth of the Game Grants
    • Diversity-Based Scholarships
    • United States Olympic Committee's FLAME (Finding Leaders Among Minorities Everywhere) Program
  • The direction of Career Consultants is to offer assistance with employment and career services. Members are encouraged to contact their Career Consultant and proactively address their future goals.
Videos showing A Year In Review, the 2017 Junior Golf Program and the 2017 Colorado Section Award Winners shown during the meeting will soon be available on the Section's YouTube Channel.

Questions or comments are always welcome. Contact the Colorado PGA office with either.

Two Teams Tie for Fall Meeting Scramble Victory

With a new format for golf following the Fall Meeting, scores stayed low and pace of play was great! The new format consisted of a 4-person modified scramble where all members of the team played from the tee and then the player's ball selected on the next shot sat out for that shot. This procedure was repeated until the ball was holed.

Two teams tied for the win posting fifteen under-par rounds of 57. Those teams were composed of Barry Milstead, Valley Country Club; Katie Milstead, Trent Wearner Golf Academy; Brian Dahmer, Mountain Vista Greens; Chris Johnson, PGA Life Member; Stacy Kleve, Pelican Lakes Golf Course; Kenny Anderson, Pelican Lakes Golf Course; Ryan Bakken, Thorncreek Golf Course; and Scott Sommers, Saddleback Golf Course.
