BUSINESS TRADEFAIRE 2017

On   Monday, September 25 ,  businesses and organizations of all types will fill  Scott's Seafood Grill & Bar  for this popular event that exhibitors anticipate all year. The  Chamber Business TradeFaire  is  the face-to-face marketing opportunity that is a proven winner for small business operations, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs.

From visibility to credibility, exhibiting has hundreds of benefits for your business. Establishing a presence, whether big or small, for your company at the  Chamber Business TradeFaire gives you a powerful platform for meeting new customers, reaching out to your existing clientèle, and building a more established and reliable brand.

First Hand Information
This month our Civic Affairs committee heard from Starship Technologies about their robots and their plans for Walnut Creek. The robots, which are 99% autonomous and under constant human supervision or control, can detect obstacles and traffic and makes decision on whether to stop or adjust speed autonomously. With a delivery distance of 1-1.5 miles, they can carry up to 10kg (2-3 shopping bags) in a locked cargo compartment and can be used for delivering a whole host of different items.

The committee also heard from Blake Griggs Properties , the developers of the Walnut Creek Transit Village , about the mixed use project breaking ground at the Walnut Creek BART station. Visit their website  for information about the project.

Civic Affairs
Business advocacy is the heart of the Civic Affairs Committee and critical to the mission of the Chamber. The Civic Affairs Committee monitors and analyzes public activities that could impact the greater business community. From growth management to business enhancement, from parking meters to parking structures, from the general plan to site-specific plans, the Civic Affairs Committee is engaged. In addition, the Committee is often supported by WALPAC, the Chamber's effective political action committee.

Please contact Nicky Henzie at [email protected] if you would like more information about the Civic Affairs Committee.  (A Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce member benefit.)
