How to start your business: Venture Series
If you are thinking about opening a new business or want to get a start on a business plan, come learn from our experts. The Venture Series of workshops will give you a solid foundation for starting your business. Leave with a list of next steps customized for your situation.

This series of workshops will be held at the Illinois SBDC at UIC office at 815 W. Van Buren, Suite 400, 60607. We hope to see you there!

The City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Small Business Center invites small business owners and entrepreneurs to its FREE Small Business Center on the Road business expo with more than 40 exhibitors offering resources.

2017  NIU EIGERlab FastPitch Competition 
The FastPitch Competition is your chance to prove the potential of your business idea...meet people who can help you succeed...maybe even win a cash prize! This is no field of dreams: traditionally the top prize that's awarded is $5,000. All competitors will receive constructive feedback, a fun experience and valuable exposure to investors, business leaders, potential mentors, and media.

2017 Chicago Innovation Challenge
A competition for students to encourage and inspire them to think about creating physical things, applications and applications that control physical things by encouraging them to seek to solve a real-world consumer and/or business needs or problem that they have identified.

Small Business Saturday
It's not to early to plan how your business will take advantage of the promotional activities to encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local on Nov 25. More information will be coming soon.
