FROM THE DESK OF

The Rev. Ledlie I. Laughlin
Rector , St. Columba's
Episcopal Church
Washington, DC
Dear People of St. Columba's,

I write to share words from our Wardens and Vestry, and from our Bishop, each inviting you first to consider the gifts and blessings of your life, and then to make a financial pledge to the ministry of God through St. Columba's Church.

Our Goal this year:
100% participation. To succeed, we need you.

November 19 is Celebration Sunday. Please don't miss it. We will give thanks through our Annual Parish meeting, celebrate our life together in Christ, offer our pledges, and rejoice.

Thank you to those who have already pledged, and to those making or receiving visits.

Peace! Ledlie

Vestry Stewardship Statement
October 2017

We believe t hat our lives, our blessings, and all that we have are gifts from God. We also believe that - as good stewards of creation and of the resources of St. Columba's Church, and out of gratitude for God's abundance - we are invited to give a portion of our gifts - of time, talent, and treasure - for God's work in the world. Being generous with what we have received acknowledges God's generosity to us and is an integral part of our spiritual growth. Learning to be generous takes time and practice; setting goals for ourselves helps us be more generous - so we strive to determine what we give after prayerful consideration and reflection.

We commit to establish personal goals for our own giving of time, talent, and treasure, and to make an annual pledge to St. Columba's, challenging ourselves to consider our pledge as a percentage of our income and to increase that percentage as we are able.

We invite a ll parishioners to think, pray, and embrace the challenge of setting their own stewardship goals, and to join us in our enthusiastic support of the ministry of God in making their pledge to St. Columba's Episcopal Church.
