This year, four chapters are holding elections: NAMIC-Carolinas, NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic, NAMIC-Southern California and NAMIC-Texas. When it comes to corporate ambition, women of color are far more likely than white women to say they aspire to a top executive role, according to a new study from LeanIn.Org and McKinsey & Co., which surveyed 70,000 women and men in North America. Yet black, Latina and Asian women still hold only 3% of C-suite roles, compared with 16.7% of entry-level roles, the study found.

mitú, a Latino-focused digital network, has partnered with Sony Pictures Animation to launch the mitú / Sony Pictures Animation Accelerator program. mitú's Accelerator is a hands-on training and mentorship program that teaches participants every aspect of the digital media industry.

Mentorship has been shown to have significant positive effects on at-risk and underrepresented students, but this ongoing guidance is critical in helping them progress through post-secondary education and training programs and, ultimately, in the workforce.

Quartz
The company's India research division announced a dataset cataloguing the genders and relationships of characters in 4,000 Bollywood movies, in addition to details of the movie's plots, and representations on movie posters and trailers. The dataset will allow researchers to use machine learning algorithms, which specialize in finding complex patterns within data, to pick out different ways bias is quantitatively shown throughout the movies.

Variety
CBS is developing a single-camera comedy series from Aline Brosh McKenna and Rene Gube of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," Variety has learned. Titled "Big Men," the series would follow an Asian-American rookie professional basketball player who dreams of a baller lifestyle. But standing in his way are his 13-year-old twin sisters whom he co-parents with his overbearing immigrant father.

People
Lopez is developing a dramedy titled Rosarito Beach with CBS through her Nuyorican Productions and Universal Television. The one-hour show will shed light on Latino stereotypes and focus on two women attorneys, one of which opens a law firm in San Diego to deal with immigration cases at the border between the United States and Mexico.

Olympusat, Inc., one of the largest independent media companies specializing in the ownership, distribution, production and technical services of Spanish and English-language networks, announced the addition of ZEE Mundo to VEMOX™, the company's OTT TV Everywhere solution.
