Red Cross Funding Programs
 
As communities begin to recover from one of the worst summers on record for forest fires, the Canadian Red Cross encourages local governments and other organizations in the fire-affected communities to apply for funding through the Community Partnerships Program to help with recovery and rebuilding. Province Amends Flood Guidelines
 
Based on a 2011 technical report that recommended incorporating sea level rise into planning and development, the Province will be amending Sections 3.5 and 3.6 of its Flood Hazard Area Land Use Management Guidelines. The changes will come into effect on January 1, 2018. Read more 
Susie Koivu Awarded UBCM Life Membership     
Former UBCM employee Susie Koivu was presented with a Life Membership during the banquet at the 2017 Convention. Susie joined UBCM on September 1, 1985 making her the longest serving UBCM employee with almost 32 years of service. She held various positions before becoming Financial Services Offices for the past two decades. Read more
