In his ninth year as Principal of John F. Kennedy Middle School, Corey Brooks has never been more certain. And as you walk alongside the students of this Riviera Beach campus, you sense that confidence reverberating throughout the hallways. There is something special happening in "Viking Country."

JFK Middle has a saying on campus to "Think Globally, Act Locally." There is a focus on educating the "whole child", a reference to not only the academic growth, but tethering that knowledge to a framework in order to create "global citizens," in his description, "fluent in critical thinking, empathy, and intercultural awareness." See My Success: New Student Board Representative Announced For 2017-2018

Gabriella Hotaling, a senior at Palm Beach Central High School, was recently named the new Student School Board Representative. Hotaling made her debut at the Board meeting on September 27.

Hotaling is going into her third year as a student government representative, and decided to take on the position of Student Board Representative because of her passion for making change and ensuring that students' voices were well represented.  Read more...

District, Business Partners Celebrate National School Bus Safety Week

National School Bus Safety Week is October 16 - 20, and the School District of Palm Beach County's Transportation Services Department will mark the week by reinforcing safety announcements with its drivers and emphasizing bus safety tips for the community.

Several of the District's business partners are joining in on the celebration, donating refreshments to be served this week at each of the compounds, as well as items that will help drivers carry out their day-to-day duties - LED flashlights, first aid kits, pens, and composition books.
 
The District is grateful to  PNC BankTooJay's Gourmet DeliAAA Auto Club South and the  Miami Heat for their support of National School Bus Safety Week and our Transportation Services staff. Read more...
