Dear Supporter of Fair and Open Competition,
Two big PLA votes are coming up - tomorrow, October 19th and Tuesday, October 24th.

Vacaville Unified School District
For two years CFEC and our allies have been keeping PLA proponents at bay as they sought to have the District's Measure A ($194 million General Obligation bond passed by voters in 2014) from going PLA. Now, suddenly, the issue is coming back to the Trustees TOMORROW!

The PLA effort is alive again at Vacaville USD.  On October 19, staff is recommending that the Board give direction on pursu ing a PLA for the Markham Elementary School Modernization Measure A Project.

"The Governing Board has previously held discussions and heard presentations regarding the use of Project Labor Agreements for Measure A projects. At this time the District is requesting direction to resume PLA negotiations solely for the Markham Elementary School Modernization Measure A Project."

What we need from you:

Please join us at the meeting this Thursday and contact the Board below to ask them to keep opportunities open for all Vacaville USD residents and students and vote no for the PLA.

City of San Jose
On October 24th the San Jose City Council  will be voting on a city-wide Project Labor Agreement (PLA) . After fighting this effort for more than a year CFEC and our allies now need your help to keep this city PLA-free.
We have put together a strategy to help sway what are believed to be the 4 council members who are believed to be "in the middle" on this issue. A key component of this strategy is a paid media effort that involves mailers, phone calls, social media ads, a Facebook page, and a webpage.
 What will your support get?
  • Phone calls to 50,000 residents asking them to contact the city council
  • website dedicated to highlighting what is happening
  • Social media ads that go to hundreds of thousands of residents
  • Mailers that go to tens of thousands of residents
  • And much more....
We need to raise $25,000 to launch this effort. $5,000 has already been pledged but now we need you to step up.

You can go here right now and donate today using a credit card. Or you can send a check to PO Box 1627, Poway CA 92074 but first let us know it is coming so we can plan accordingly.

Join us in downtown Sacramento on November 7th!
