Are you ready?

How many times have you been asked/asked someone else if they are ready for the holidays in the last few weeks?  Don't answer that.  It might make your head pop off.

The more I think about my lists, not just for this month or next month, but for the upcoming year, the more I think there is no way I can do everything.  Like I have said before, while I have moral issues with cloning, I totally see the practical applications.  I mean seriously, doesn't the world need multiples of me running around?  Wait.  Strike that.

So, the goal each day is to recognize what I can do today, and just simply do it.

I feel the same way about trying to make a difference in this crazy world.  It is overwhelming to think of all of the needs all over the world, and recognize that there is no way I can do everything.  Then I remember something else that I have said before.  Take care of what's in reach, and when that's covered, reach a little further.

And that's what The Green Apricot's WIP Week/Food Drive is all about.  From Tuesday, Dec 6 through Saturday, Dec 10 the studio will be open from 9 to 4 for you to come and focus on all of your Works In Progress, and the only cost is 2 pounds of nonperishable food per hour of studio time.  All donations will go to United Food Force, Inc.  And thanks to some inspiration from one of our past participants, we're going with themed days this time!  Of course, you don't have to follow the theme of the day, but I think it adds a little fun to the shopping part!  Just click here for the calendar, click on the days you are interested in attending and you will see the theme for the day.  Spaces are already filling up fast for this, so please register ahead of time so that I know you are coming.  I am so excited, and I can't wait to see all of you there.

Can't make it to the studio?  How about dedicate a donation in your area for each hour of sewing you do at home?  Let me know how it goes!

 What is The Green Apricot?
The primary goal of The Green Apricot is to help you make it like you mean it.  It is a resource in the form of a website, a studio, and educational programs to help makers make and creators create.  While there is an emphasis on quilting currently, The Green Apricot plans to provide resources for a wide variety of handmade processes.
