Saturday Storytimes at the Farmers' Market

Last year, our library was approached by the Main Street Wadsworth organization to participate in the local Farmers' Market. We initially decided to provide storytime twice a month and a take & make craft to the children who would be attending the market.

We set up our own little stand which included:
  • a blanket for kiddos to sit on and listen to a few stories
  • a portable magnetic and felt board to include some fun rhymes
  • a table with library information and take & make crafts.
  • our Hungry Caterpillar bean bag toss game
Our first few times, we spent about an hour at the Farmers' Market and it was a hit! The families really enjoyed it and so did we.

This summer, we decided to hold all of our Saturday storytimes at the Farmers' Market for the months of July and August and extended our time there to two hours.
It was a big success again this year!
