The Frank Zepp bridge (also known as the South 180th Street Bridge) will be undergoing maintenance and will require a complete closure of the bridge to all traffic in order to replace the bridge deck. R azz Construction Incorporated will begin the bridge deck replacement on Friday, September 22, 2017 and expect to complete the construction by Monday, October 2, 2017Construction is weather dependent and adverse weather conditions may require adjustment of the closure dates.

As a matter of public safety and to complete the work safely and efficiently, South 180th Street will be physically closed from Sperry Drive to State Route 181 (West Valley Highway). Access will be maintained to all local businesses and for local area residents on the stretch of South 180th Street from Sperry Drive leading up to the bridge, but no through traffic will be possible across the Frank Zepp bridge once deck replacement begins.

Razz Construction Incorporated realizes that the work will be disruptive and will make every  effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We want to hear your thoughts about the City's Public Safety Plan

On Thursday, August 10 the City held the second of three Public Safety Plan open houses scheduled for 2017. The event took place at Station 54 and was well attended, with approximately 150 people enjoying the ice cream, bouncy house and information on the Public Safety Plan.

City staff and the fire stations and justice center architects had the opportunity to interact with many community members interested in the new facilities and gathered feedback on a wide variety of issues associated with the Public Safety Plan.

If you were unable to make it to the August 10 Open House, we'd still like to hear from you! You can provide comments through our Online Open House until August 31, 2017.  Visit the website to learn how fire stations are located and get to know the architects who will design the new buildings. Then take a minute to provide your insight!
