Art Exhibit 'The Visual Metric' in
Lafayette City Center Passageway

The Griffin Museum of Photography's exhibit, "The Visual Metric," is inside the Lafayette City Center Passageway.
Rachel Barrett's photography in the exhibit

"Anyone from a manufacturing background has a propensity for visual depictions of measurement, process and outcome. Whether it be an Excel graph for tracking a trend, a work flow diagram following a widget through production or a fish bone chart to problem solve, it is easier to analyze with a pictorial rendering than a spread sheet of raw numbers or a written description of a procedure. This is the thread of the idea that led to the exhibit," wrote Paula Tognarelli
Executive Director and Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography.
Roger Archibald's photograph in the exhibit

There are 50 photographs and 42 photographers.

The exhibit is a partnership between the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Lafayette City Center and the Downtown Boston BID.  This exhibit is free for anyone to view. The Lafayette City Center Passageway (2 Avenue De Lafayette) links Macy's with the Hyatt Regency Boston, and is open to the public 10 am to 6 pm.

Explorateur: An All-Day
European Inspired Cafe, Bar, Restaurant
Now Open on Tremont Street

Explorateur, a California-French themed restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, is now open in the Grand Lodge of Masons (186 Tremont St.)

For years owner Ed Kane has dreamed about creating a European inspired cafe, bar and restaurant that lends itself to different styles of dining. Customers can purchase items from the counter and sit themselves in the cafe area; they can dine at tables and booths for full-service; and there's full-service bar, too, for people to sit down and enjoy a cocktail, glass or bottle of wine.

Kane wanted to add the California element because it makes the menu healthier. The menu varies for all three meals, and dinner options includes "Things We Call French" and "Things We Love" sections. French menu items include Escargot In Their Home, Moules Marienieres and Souffle Au Fromage. The "Love" section includes items such as Persian Split Pea Soup, Bone Marrow & Spaetzle and Pork Milanese.

clementine upside-down cake

The breakfast menu includes sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes, pommes confit and more. The lunch menu includes salads, sandwiches and toasts (like the very popular avocado toast).
Cocktails from left to right: Matcha iced latte, Parisian standard, and Andorra Sour.

Explorateur will serve breakfast from 7 to 11:30 am daily, lunch until 5 pm, and dinner until 10 or 11 pm on weekends. Weekend brunch is also served, and drinks are available until 1 am and 2 am on Thursdays through Saturdays.

The restaurant is open 11 am to 9 pm daily. Please visit 1000degreespizza.com to see a full menu.
